It was bound to happen

After a great day for the Hoedown, a bunch of us were breaking down the Wild West Arena, when I decided to get the bikes home. We are going over to the Bum Steer for a small get together afterwards.

Well I hopped on the Plum Smuggler, gave it a few kicks and the damn bike kicked back. The brass kicker pedal smashed into my leg and proceeded to gash it open. Thanks to Firefighter Dave and all my buddies for jumping in and helping me out.
Never made it to the Bum Steer but did spend two and half hours of quality time in the hospital

Good times!

Thanks to the VENDORS!

We all know how much of a hassle it is to wake up at the crack of dawn , load your truck, drive and then bust ass setting up for a show. You guys killed it and helped us set a great vibe for the entire day. Thanks for working so hard !

Hippy Killer Hoedown
Jamie and I would like to thank EVERYONE for a great event. It wouldn’t of been possible without the vendors, the bands, the sound guys, Danny G and all our friends, who donated their time to make the day run smoothly.
The amount of free product that we received was overwhelming. Big Thanks to Vans, Loser Machine, Born Loser, Licks, Limpnickie Lot, Sucker Punch Sally, La Speed Shop, Cycle Source, Nash Motorcycles, Iron Fist Clothing, OBEY, 70 Moto, Benchmark, Technical and Lowbrow Customs for sending in so much product, that the free giveaways lasted all day long.
The artist helped us greatly, all of the trophies came out killer.
The Lords of Riverside car club always have a home at any of our upcoming events. Excellent job on the parking and with the gate.
To my Sinner brothers, thanks for representing
We would also like to thank the media for your coverage of the Hoedown.
Thanks to Mom and Dad for all of their support and help.
We will have pictures soon but right now it is time for a nap.

Thanks Spectro Oil

We have these bitchin posters to hand out from our friends at Spectro Oil. Duane and I liked this shot that Wes D. took for the Street Chopper article that we asked Rollin if he could help us with the posters. They are thick as hell and you can find them at the Eternal Combustion booth. Thanks Rollin and Dave for all of you help. If possible one per person would be cool so more guys can get one.

We use Spectro Oil, do you?

Attention Custom Car and Bike owners………….

The Custom cars and bikes will be going thru the LEFT side of the main gate, you will be paying the 10 entrance fee and if there are any passengers they will be doing the same. The Lords of Riverside Car Club will be helping us park your cars. We will have some of our guys help the bikes parking. There is no advance registration needed but hopefully one day the Hoedown will become that big that you have to, we all can dream. We have a total of six car and six motorcycle awards to be handed out, they are all Best of Show but all one off awards that we know you will be stoked to get. All winners must be present to win. We will have the award ceremony at 5pm and have invited a lot of our media friends to join us. Get ready to be famous and thanks for coming out!

For anyone that is coming in cars, there is a field adjacent to the Arena that you will be parking in. Please pull forward and park in rows as we need to fill it to the maximum capacity. We will have guys helping in that field, please follow their direction. They will create the needed space for the traffic to flow. Keep your speeds down as there will be a lot of movement in that field. We need everyone's cooperation so we can get you off the road as quickly as possible but in an orderly fashion.
You will be entering thru this side gate. It is $10 per person.
We all know the Noteboom’s , heck most of Kutty and Jamie's friends and family are working together on Saturday to make this event possible. Please don’t expect to get into this event for free because you know someone. There has been numerous fees paid out and massive amount of hours to get it to this point.
See you Saturday!~ Lisa

Sara Ray Trophy

Sara Ray sent in a picture of her bitchin trophy. The way that the cars and bikes are going to be chosen is by the artist. I have asked Hot Dog, Dan Collins, Sara Ray, Duane Ballard, Sonny Boy , Freddy Hernandez, Mikey Ratt, Chopper Dave, Loser Machine, Pac Man and my dad to help pick out the winners. I will be choosing one as well.
All of the artist will be on the stage at 5:00 for the announcement.
Thanks to all of the artist for stepping up and helping us out.

I have been a part of the Limpnickie Lot for two years now. It is a neat home for builders like myself. The Lot will be sending some items to be passed out from the stage. Thanks for the support!

Well folks, the time has come

by Lisa Ballard

Kutty and I have walked the land and all of the vendors have made it very easy to be placed. Every vendor is bringing something unique to the Hoedown, they are all very talented.

We would like to thank every person that has made this years event blow up. To see the HK flyers being rocked on so many sites and pages, has been truly overwhelming. We are more than ready for the 17th , please support our vendors- Thanks

Eternal Combustion is heading to the Hoedown
What do a bunch of loser, ex-wannabe porn star, derelicts, and dirt bags do when the world looks grim and says "you'll never amount to anything"?

Well, most go to the welfare line to collect Government Cheese, but not us. Nope. We go out and make plans for world domination! Witness the illegitimate love-child of Duane Ballard, Jason Craze, and Mike Deutsch - EternalCombustion.Where else can you go to get all the leather whips, gimp masks, and ball gags you need? How about polished aluminum butt plugs? Oh yeah, we got those too! And if that's a little too risque for ya, we also happen to have some of the bitchinest leather seats for your scoot, belts for your ass, wallets for your cash, bags for your stash and keychains for your, well... keys. Not enough? How about being the only source for the TT&Co. Troop helmets and cycle parts in North America? Still not good enough? Damn people, what's a drop-out gotta do to impress around here? Well, we also got clothing and hats and sticky crap to paste on every cop car within sprinting distance, and even bigger plans for the future. Check us out and bring us a pizza. The store's at www.eternalcombustion.com and the blog antics are over at -www.eternallycombusting.blogspot.com

No Coolers please

The owner of the Wild West Arena would like me to remind you that there is absolutely no beer coolers/ personal alcohol allowed on the property. The Wild West Arena prices are low and there will be plenty to go around . Please help me by passing this information along, Thanks!

The new event poster is done

It was a no brainer to turn to our talented friend Emily for help to create the Second Annual Hippy Killer Poster. She killed it!
Emily will be joining the event table and will have these limited posters for sale for $15.00 each. There are only 250 and the first one will be signed by me, framed and handed out as one of the Best of Show awards.
During last year’s event, we hid some of the poster for save keeping and just stumbled upon them . Emily will have these as well for 5.00 but remember the stack is small, get them before they are gone forever!

THE LONESOME ONES are heading to the Hoedown

Where else can you see six live bands for ten bucks?

We have just confirmed THE LONESOME ONES to the line up…..They are formed out of the likes of such hard rockin' bands as Los Infernos (Dr Dream Records), Second Chance (Loaded Bomb Records) & The Legendary Swagger (Loaded Bomb Records)...The Lonesome Ones are throwing back to the days of old with a blend of 60's and Garage Rock with a little punk attitude. These veterans have been around the block a few times and know what good music is. They have created some great stripped down good ole rock n' roll right out of the garage. Be on the look out!

We have been asked about Hotels and Camping near the Hoedown

We just put up a map of the location and the surrounding hotels. If you know anything about Hemet, there are a lot of cheap hotels to crash at. We have been told that there is a grassy lot that we will be parking cars on during the day ,that will be available for free camping. I am requesting that if you are going to set up camp, you must realize that you will be on private property and we ask you to respect the land. NO BURNOUTS are allowed, NO Dumbass tricks, ect. There are families and horses that live there and you must respect them as well. If you know in your heart that this might be a challenge for you, please hook up with somebody and crash at a local motel. We would like you if you could wait to set up your tents till about 5 or 6 as there will be cars coming in and out of the lot, we are concerned for your safety as well. If we see a opportunity for a clear location, we will announce it over the PA system.

My family has to carry insurance for the day and we should not have to pay for someone's crazy actions. We want you all to have a great time but we are also working hard to keep the Wild West Arena our home for future events. Thanks!

Big thanks to the LORD’S of Riverside

Don’t worry, you don’t have to hide the children, the Lord’s of Riverside is a car club that has stepped up to help me get the custom cars parked. Be nice and watch for their direction to make this all go smooth.

PASS THE AXE has joined up for the Hoedown

PASS THE AXE is from Oceanside, CA and formed in November, 2008. The band consists of four long time friends who wanted to start a band that showcased their roots in punk rock, but also their later influences from bands like Murder City Devils and Social Distortion. PASS THE AXE has been constantly playing shows around Southern California since they started and show no signs of slowing down. Keep an eye out for a full length, and be sure to catch their live show when they come to your town!

The WHITEWALLS will also be playing a set and we have also gotten a local band, the Garage Band Boys. Don’t forget about Whiskey and Knives and capping off the night will be The Creepy Creeps. What a great line up!

Come meet the master that helped create the Denver’s frames and frontends back in the day

Freddy Hernandez of Fred’s Frames will be talking shop about building custom frames. It is baffling to witness him looking at a old frame and can tell you who built it and why. He has so many cool ass stories that I always seem to loose track of time when I am at his shop. Meet the original bad ass and get a frame built from him. Fred Frames are the only frame I use and you should too!

Same as it ever was

…..but not really. Eric with Sleds and Sickles has been working on his website and store front and will be showcasing the new and improved Sled and Sickles at the Hoedown. I can’t wait to see what he is bringing to the table.

Holy Crap!

By Lisa Ballard

I am truly sorry for not posting some of the new logos for the Hoedown. I will work on getting everyone up here and linked up. Daytona Bike Week was fun but now I am focused on the Hoedown. can’t wait for April 17th. Thanks for your patience and understanding, now on with the show…………

Grant and Harpoon from FMA will be on location selling their cool t-shirts and pimping their kick ass show..BORN FREE. Please make sure you grab a flyer and help spread them spread the word. I don’t know who doesn’t know about it, they must have been living under a rock!

Mike D. will also be under the big tent, rocking his Born Loser gear.

Another Hoedown Sponsor

This was a no brainer! Seeing that Duane’s work is used on all of the bikes rolling out of the Hippy Killer Garage, it only took seconds for him to offer his help with the Hoedown. You should check out his work, you won’t be disappointed.

Hoedown Sponsor

We are stoked to say that Tyler from Lowbrow Customs has thrown in his hat to become our first Official Sponsor for the Hippy Killer Throwdown. Lowbrow Customs carry some of the coolest shit around. Our Second Hippy Killer Hoedown

Last year, the first Hippy Killer HoeDown brought over 450 riders to Hemet. It was a one-day event throw on a Thursday! This year we can only see the numbers rise, as it will be held on a Saturday.
